Rubia is a 48 year old woman living in Oakland, CA. Rubia was diagnosed with breast cancer in July of 2016. Rubio started working at 16 years old and this is the first time in her life that she hasn’t been able to work and provide for her family. Her daughter and grandchildren currently live with her and she has worked hard to provide for them. Upon starting chemotherapy she realized that she could no longer work and this left her in a state of depression. Through her church she was able to overcome her depression and know that it is okay to need help every once in awhile, this led her to the Love from Margot Foundation.

The Love from Margot Foundation was able to provide Rubia with a financial grant to help her get through her chemotherapy and allow her family to create a new financial plan while she finishes up her treatment.
