Katherine is a 60 year old woman who currently resides in San Francisco, CA. We received this letter from Katherine: “This summer I found myself diagnosed with stage 3c serous ovarian cancer. What, who me??? What a surprise! I had a complete hysterectomy. The surgery got 80%, but there is still cancer that has metastasized to my diaphragm and the back of my bowel. The doctors want to do chemo for 4.5 months. I am very afraid of chemo, I don’t think my immune system is strong enough to make it; in the last 10 years I have had pneumonia twice, three asthma attacks, MAC lung infection and when I lost a job in 2010 I had a bad case of hives covering my face, arms and legs lasting nine months. I want to go to an alternative cancer clinic in Tijuana, Mexico. They preform traditional cancer therapies, along with cutting edge treatments. The reason I chose this hospital is that they work to preserve the immune system function, which is so crucial in whether or not the cancer returns. Unfortunately, I am struggling financially and do not have the medical insurance. Time is of the essence.”

The Love from Margot Foundation was able to provide Katherine with a financial grant to help get her to the treatment center she needs.
